Privacy Policy
Last updated: July 19, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how Team Tether(“we,” “us,” or “our”) collects, uses, and shares information in connection with the Team Tether mobile application and related services (the “App”). The App helps coaches and parents organize youth sports teams and skills programs — schedules, rosters, dues tracking, and team communication.
By creating an account or using the App, you agree to this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the App.
A note about children
The App is intended for use by adults (coaches, team managers, and parents or guardians), who must be at least 18 years old. The App is not directed to children under 13, and children do not create or hold their own accounts.
Adults may enter information about the children they coach or parent — a display name and jersey number, and, if a parent or guardian chooses, the child’s full legal name, date of birth, and a photo — in order to manage rosters, schedules, and tournament entry. The legal name, date of birth, and photo are optional, are added only by a parent or guardian with recorded consent, and can be seen only by that child’s own family and their own coach. Adults are responsible for having the authority and any necessary consent to provide this information. See Children’s Privacy below.
Information we collect
Account information (you, an adult)
- Your name and email address.
- Your password, which is stored in hashed form by our authentication provider — we never see or store your plain-text password.
- Your role (coach or parent) and an optional profile photo you choose to upload.
Information you provide about children
- A child’s display name (typically a first name or initial) and optional jersey number.
- Optionally, and only when added by a parent or guardian with consent: the child’s full legal name and date of birth (used for tournament entry and confirming age groups), and a photo.
A child’s legal name, date of birth, and photo are visible only to that child’s own parents/guardians and their own coach — never to other families. Photos are stored privately (not on any public web address) and are shown through short-lived, expiring links. We never sell or share this information, and we never use it for advertising or to train artificial intelligence.
Team and program activity
- Rosters, schedules, events, and RSVP responses.
- Dues amounts and paid/unpaid status (the App tracks status only — it does not process payments).
- Announcements, posts, comments, poll votes, documents, and volunteer sign-ups you create or submit.
- Links you add to external chat groups (e.g. a WhatsApp invite URL).
Information collected automatically
- Diagnostic and crash data (such as error messages, device type, and operating system) to help us find and fix problems.
- A push-notification token, if and when you enable notifications, so we can deliver reminders and alerts to your device.
How we use information
- To provide and operate the App and its features.
- To display rosters, schedules, dues, and communications to the appropriate members of your team or program.
- To send you notifications and reminders you have enabled.
- To maintain security, prevent abuse, and diagnose and fix technical problems.
- To comply with legal obligations.
How information is shared
With other members of your team or program. Information you add is visible to the relevant people — for example, a coach can see their roster, and parents can see schedules and announcements for teams their child is on.
With service providers. We use trusted third parties to run the App. They process data only to provide services to us:
- Supabase — database, authentication, and file storage.
- Resend — sending account and notification emails.
- Sentry — crash and error reporting (mobile app).
- Expo — push-notification delivery.
For legal reasons. We may disclose information if required by law or to protect the rights, safety, or property of our users or others.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising.
Data retention and deletion
We keep your information for as long as your account is active. You can permanently delete your account at any time from within the App (Settings → Account → Delete account). Deleting your account removes your profile and the teams or programs you own, along with their associated data.
Children’s information. We keep a child’s optional details (legal name, date of birth, and photo) only while they are active on a team or program. A parent or guardian can remove any of these at any time in the App, and we automatically clear them once a child is no longer active. Removing a photo permanently deletes the stored image.
You may also request deletion or ask questions about your data by emailing info@teamtether.app.
Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information, including encryption in transit and at rest, database-level access controls that limit data to the members of your team or program, private storage for children’s photos (served only through short-lived, expiring links), and optional two-factor authentication you can turn on for your account. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, or delete your personal information, or to object to certain processing. You can exercise many of these rights directly in the App, or by contacting us at info@teamtether.app.
Children's Privacy
The App is designed for adults and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly allow children under 13 to create accounts or to provide information to us directly.
The information about a child that appears in the App is provided by an adult — a parent, guardian, or coach — for the purpose of managing a team or program. That adult is responsible for having the authority and any consent necessary to provide it.
A child’s optional legal name, date of birth, and photo may be added only by a parent or guardian, who is asked to confirm their consent at the time. These details are used only to run teams and enter tournaments and verify age groups; they are visible only to that child’s own parents/guardians and their own coach; and they are never sold, shared, used for advertising, or used to train artificial intelligence. A parent or guardian can review, change, or delete them at any time in the App (Settings → Children).
If you believe a child has provided us information directly, or you wish to review or remove information about a child, contact us at info@teamtether.app and we will take appropriate steps.
Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will update the date above and, where appropriate, notify you in the App.
